Low price, fast delivery, quality service -- pick two
Whining because you can't always get all three is infantile.
Of course, if a LBS has consistently bad service, you can't justify paying their premium.
Finally, regarding service quality and attitude, no doubt some LBS employees are unskilled in dealing with customers. And no doubt some customers contribute to the drama they have with LBS staff.
If a person has consistently poor results in dealing with an entire industry segment, e.g,, "all bike shops", then the problem may be with the individual.
