One of my favorite loops in my area has a 625 foot climb over two miles, and while a struggle if a stiff wind is in my face, (which often happens out here, like every day!), I can get over it pretty easily.
Being "afraid" of 8500+ climbing for the double-metric century, I was considering switching to the century. But now seeing the difficulty of the hill, I'll stick with the double. I've rode up to Ojai several times, and it is another very gentle grade. You hardly notice it. I'm still bringing the triple, only because the seat is so much more comfortable and it can hold my top tube stem goodie bag.
Also of note: registration fee goes up another notch this coming Sunday, (from $70 to $85).
