But what was frustrating was the customer wanted all this special stuff done to a pair of derailleurs and brake levers, and I quoted him my hourly rate from the git-go. I ended up having these headache-inducing conversations with him where he'd be tossing all these complicated ideas out while at the same time expecting the work wouldn't take much time, thus not much coin out of his pocket.
I was the one trying to steer him to simpler stuff as it seemed his main focus was to get a "limited edition" for peanuts. In the end, it was really not fun at all.
