Honestly, I think if all recipes tried were "disgusting" then I would say that is 1) pretty bad luck, and 2) an effort aborted too early.
I've had really good luck with all manner of home cooking.
I go through a flask once a month. If I can't afford $5 I should seriously look at my finances.
Anyhow, I am a rather good cook. This just isn't worth it.
