OP it is pretty simple. What is the bike worth TO YOU? What are the reasons YOU put value in X ride? Most on here would not value those original bikes at the listed prices (you can do much better substantively for the price). That said, in terms of "phone negotiated" prices nothing is ever set until you actually see the product in hand (Ebay shipped is different obviously). There absolutely nothing wrong w/ getting a price over the phone, doing a look-see, and then offering less because careful inspection indicated a lower value TO YOU. Far too many Americans get hung up on "offending someone" when price negotiating. If it is isn't worth it to you then NO ONE should get ruffled about you offering a lower price. If they do then they are either trying a negotiating tactic or are clueless.
