It sounds like you like the bike overall, so I would suggest that as long as you're not crushing yourself against the top tube, and your reach and leg extension are comfortable, you should ride what you have, and save for something "better/higher-end/more wowie/whatever". It's not necessarily a game ender just because it's "too tall", assuming it fits everywhere else.
Crushing myself would be a safe way to put it on a family forum. It measures 58.5 cm (29 inches) from center crank to the top of the top tube. I have to put one foot down and lean to reach the ground. I need smaller.

I like my 27" wheel set now, nice and comfy. I think it has 37's on it as well. It's just the top tube is a huge discomfort.
