Well to be honest I don't really know how people are when it comes to these old bikes.
I about half expected people to freak out because I was not putting period correct parts on it or keeping it all road bike styles.
So, Yes I was expecting to get flamed.
Some forums are like that these days.

I post these sorts of things looking for constructive criticism.
I do not know everything there is to know about buying, building, or riding bicycles. (if you can believe that)
If I am doing something that may result in total destruction of either my bike or myself I hope that someone would be kind enough to bring it to my attention.

I do know this.
I do not build my bikes for internet fame.
I do not build bikes to sell.
I build my bikes to last.
I build my bikes to look and function the way I want.
Lastly I build my bikes to ride.
I do the research and build my bikes with quality parts that will last for what they were intended for (although this bike does not quite look the part yet) and in the end they are just that.

Like a lot of the custom bike genres and not unlike a custom car or truck, style plays an important roll.
Trends come and trends go.
Also not unlike a lot of custom bike builds style has been taken into consideration for this build.

I do tend to follow the form follows fashion mantra but I am a firm believer that something can be functional as well as fashionable.

The conclusion of this build should inform people a little more about who I am and what I am about.
Whether that is good or bad will simply be an opinion and to be brutally honest I probably will not lose too much sleep over it.

Ok that's probably enough rambling for now.
I just wanted to get that out there for people to think about.
I like to make people think.

Until next time....

P.S.
Don't let the pics fool you.
That saddle has been around since the late 60s and it shows.
It is dry rotted and some of the rivets look like they are ready to pull through the leather any minute now.
Oh and don't tell anyone else but it is actually the Brooks B66S which, as some may know, is a ladies seat.

A suitable men's style replacement will be mounted soon but this is the only saddle I currently have that has the loops for my saddle bag
