Who expects cutting edge technology in a bike 90% of the members here would buy?

Cutting edge goes into the super-high end bikes, that are one-offs for pros, and the good ideas with mass appeal make it into the rest of the bikes.

That being said, Trek, I think, does pretty good making bikes that fit a bunch of specific needs (They have utility bikes, commuters, fixies, etc), all of which are great for their niche.

And, not saying Giant, Specialized, or any of the other makers don't.
