Bikes: 2007 Specialized Tarmac Elite with Mavic Ksyriums "helium edition"

IMHO none of the major bike companys make bad bikes, and considering that the carbon fiber revolution has taken less than 8 years to go from $10,000+ pro tour only bikes to sub $1500 lower intermediate models tells me that NONE of the MFGs don't have and use some cutting edge technology. Trek, specialized,Giant, Felt,Scott ect ect any "non custom" bought from store rack bike is a pretty amazing piece of technology.

I would ask the OP what his opinion of High Tech is? And what specifically do you thin Trek is missing that other companies have shown?

Personally, I'm not a trek fan. Bot for any cosmetic or technical reason..... My local dealer that sold trek sucked and there's sales pitch was always "buy what lance rides" (lame). On the other hand my specialized dealer took the proper time with me and did a great job setting me up on the two bikes I purchased from them, so I bought specialized. Had the situation been reversed I would have purchased a trek.

I will also say that IMHO if I were going to throw down $5k for a new bike, the Cervelo R3 with a SRAM red build or the cannondale SuperSix Evo with a SRAM red build are defiantly on the top of my "lust list"
