Ksyrium Elite over old FSA RD-88 - worth it?
Hello.
I wonder if I could trouble you all for some advice. My 2008 Principia Evolution racing bike (aluminium) weighs 8,5kg with 105 and FSA RD-88 wheels (1800g/pair). I am thinking of a wheel upgrade as good place to start. I am not at all dissatisfied, but have nothing to compare them with performance wise, however I think it is good place to improve. I currently are not doing any racing, but plan to do a couple next year. Currently I take my bike for 2-3 weekly 35-60km runs and will typically manage 34km/h on average. I do take the occasional sprint round corners, however the roads here in Denmark are relatively flat by most standards, with only moderate hills. A new pair of nice looking Ksyrium Elite 2011 (1550g/pair) will cost me 399 Euros when bought in Germany. My question is - is the Ksyrium Elite worth it? Would there be much difference in my performance and the performance/handling of the wheels or is it just money wasted into bling?
I am grateful for any advice you can give me, thank you.
