I agree the term "grail" is hackneyed. Also, it doesn't describe the way I look at purchasing bicycles. I'm not on a treasure hunt for "the one." Rather, I'm an opportunist. If I stumble across an interesting high quality vintage bike that fits me, the price is low, and I have the funds, I'll probably buy it, if only to try it out and work on it. Sure, there are bikes I've lusted after that I've never owned, but I don't dwell on them or cruise ebay or classifieds daily to try to acquire them. I prefer serendipity.

And while owning, looking at them, and posting photos of them is fun, riding them is more satisfying.
