on my way into work i encountered this strange phenomenon for about the ninth time. If i'm riding down the side of the road, approaching the light, people feel the urge to floor it and go around me, failing to realize that the light is red and all the cars are stopped in front of me. The guy this morning nearly rear-ended someone. Last week the lady that did this almost ran over 3 people crossing the street.
I had a similar experience yesterday where a guy stopped at a trail crossing for me and the lady behind him floored it, passed around him on the right, directly into my path.
I stopped in time and gave her an intense glare, seeing how we were so up close and personal. She knew that she was in the wrong but was already committed to the maneuver so she sailed past, averting her eyes.
