Almost 18 years ago I was making a U at the end of Torrance Beach. Was doing all of maybe 3 mph, wasn't really paying attention, hit some sand ... next thing, I'm on the ground with people standing around me ... "hey dude, you OK". I smacked the back side of my helmet something fierce. I learned three valuable lessons ... always ride with a helmet, never stop paying attention no matter how "slow" you're going, and slow crashes can actually be more hazardous then fast ones (if you "lapse", it can be less than 6' between your head and concrete/asphalt).

Hope you heal up quick.
