time iclic cleat stuck

So I was just toying around with my new pedals. I slip the cleat into the pedals just to see what it looks like. Little did I know, I have just screwed myself over. I couldn't get the cleat back out with hands. I twisted the cleat inward and it went pretty far but it didn't come out. The manual says 15 degrees for disengage. Do I have twist and pull at the same time? What should I do? I tried searching and someone used vice grips but they scratched up their cleats pretty bad.

On a side note, where do I align the cleat on my shoe. My SIDI shoe has a lot of lines at the bottom, which part of my foot is suppose to align with what?
