Las Vegas!! my favorite city I would love to move there.

as to the frame and where it was built yes Bianchi made lots of frames in both Italy and Japan. in general anything with Italian tubing and dropouts such as Gipiemme would point to an Italian frame.

some models both low and higher end had chrome forks and stays, but a close look on this one and it does appear to have been painted at one time (I think) it looks like you can see remnants of the paint and decals on the top of the crown and in the 'groove' where the crowna dn blade meet

again this being a European model anything is possible there is a chance that it has Oria tubing and was built in Japan, I am just going off the fact that I know these decals were used on European bikes and seldome seen on US market bikes.

the gearing... well this is a racing level bike. if it only has 6spds and if the Victory was stock that would make the age of the bike '85/86ish. they simply did not have 7+ speeds in that time. I believe 7s started in '86/87 time frame and then came 8 and so on.

I haven't ridden in the Vegas area since about .... well it has been awhile :0. but I think the simplist way to get better gearing may be to change the cranks (and BB) to a late '90s Caampi 'racing triple' with a 34-38ish granny and then a 40-42 and 53. at least I think that is how I would do it.

** "And Bianchigirll - checked out your other rides on flicker...very nice!" **

thank you.
