And, by the way, the pavement on the descents is dangerous . . .

Arrrrgh! Email comes 24 hours before the century begins. Time for getting a refund is over. The email warns, "pavement is broken and potentially dangerous on both descents. Please use extreme caution."

I ask. This is not a new condition. They knew about it as they planned the route. They intentionally took those two descents - on one of which a club member had a debilitating crash about 6 weeks ago. And, of course, they decided not to tell about the issue on their registration website.

What fun are descents with badly broken pavement? And, if you insist on using that route anyway, why not warn registrants ahead of time? Frustrating.
