Congrats on your first group ride.. it's always a big event you'll never forget.

Have you considered that he wasn't saying it to be a jerk, but because what you were doing was potentially unsafe and he didn't want you knocking somebody down? I'm not saying that's the case.. but it is a possibility. And Fred's don't yell.. you're thinking of a poser.
