Actually the "Lactic Acid" does not stick around very long at all. I dissipates quickly after exercise. Its a common misconception... Actually we don't know exactly why or what chemicals (if any) cause muscle soreness. One of the best things you can do is ride your bike!! Recovery rides, will help decrease your tenderness and tightness. Make sure to stretch afterward while your muscles are warm too.
