with all this heat last week in the Northeast My old beloved ROUND bell Image helmet had a meltdown .

It was in the garage on my bike and when I went to ride I noticed the shell lifted off the foam and was very deformed OH well.

the next day I stopped at dicks to get a new Lid (no bike shops near where I work)

I wanted a Bell Citi or metro but They just didnt fit so I tried on some other sport /commute style (conservative style ) from bell and they didnt fit too good either.

so I started to try On the Giros but wasnt too happy with most of them although some of the funky road helmets were ok (too wierd though). most of the sport helmets were marked in the 30 -50 dollar range.

not liking the universal fit helmets I noticed another Giro style SEDONA that offered a small, Med and Large and were also adjustable within each size with the better Roc lock system COOL! the large went to 63 vs bell and most others 61

well it fit great !! , with room for a winter hat if needed due to the roc lock. I wasnt fond of the color Black sides /carbon fiber scale pattern on top but it was fine .

now the strange part , these GIRO SEDONAs were all Marked $69.95 and when I checked out it rang up as $34.95 I was pleased of course.

after I bought the helmet I checked Giros website but this model was not on it! it was made in feb 05.

I called Giro and they told me that the helmet is a current model but its made just for Dicks .

the gal at Giro said it was a re -make of the 2003 Mohave Model? but with the 2005 shell and the new roc loc suspension and dicks choice of colors Blue/red or My black /carbon scales.


ya never know . I wonder what the helmets normal retail price realy is?. doesnt matter too much as it fits great and does not look to much like the alien /squid head that many of use dont like!
