@ sixty: Absolutely, I recomend them for the type of riding we did. Since your bike is now longer maybe heel strike is not an issue for you byt for "normal" folders it is. Also I do not like to load it in the back becouse the riders weight is already far behind what you find on a big wheeled bike.

@ fietsbob: If I was to buy a trailer I would go with the city. My friend bought it after I recomended it (just from reading about it on the net) and he is happu with it. He used to travel around a lot using bus and train and had most of his stuff in a big backpack (he is not a "gadget person") like me. He busted several wheels that way and is happy with the trailer solution. He did some folder touring this summer and commented the trailer was a bit small. I remember we tested out atatching a big backpack I had to the top of the trailer but I think he forgot about it when he raveled this summer.

@vmaniqi: Not so much, they are more or less copys of the BF trailer, but without having seen one in real life.

I`ve been thinking of posting some details and pics in the utility forums, but since I am already in the progres of upgrading it really is a difficult task to keep up.

I started with the top of the stem of a cheap kick scooter. If you remowe the detatchable handlebars you are left with an alu piece shaped like a big T. Cut of the straight pieces of an alu (unless you need stronger and go for good quality steel) straight MTB handlebar. Drill a hole in the end just like you find on the short handlebar you remowed and insert the small spring found innside it to the longer piece you just made. This way you can click it in place.

Used all sorts of bits and pieces, I really must try to post more on the details.

The flatbeds tow bar can be atached angeling upwards and thereby carry the folded bike much like the city trailer. It would be more difficult to strap the bike to the suitcase trailers when hand rolling them w present towbar since they would slide off but that could be fixed.

Just bought another suitcase at a flea marked. Been thinking that the legs/handles from a wheelbarrow looks like they could be used as cheap towbars.

The great thing about this system is that you can bring the trailer to places where you would not be welcome with a bike trailer. Just like the City trailer it looks like a suitcase w bigger wheels.
