On the subject of passes: here's me at Buttertubs in Yorkshire, this Sunday. Tail end of August, and 20 mph headwinds. I had to rest a couple of times on the ascent
But as mentioned, the heather on the moors is absolutely stunning this times of the year. Not many cyclists up there though.
