Don't work at a bike shop, but did hear friends / fellow cyclists at bike shops say this:
"Throttle" : Grip shifters
"Plastics" : the "plastic" part of a toe clip
"Brain bucket" : Used by local newspapers... to describe a helmet
"Bells and whistles" : literally bells and WHISTLES.
"Horn" : Bells
"Wire" : Spokes
"Tires" : Seen this used interchangeably with wheels, rims, actual tires, and tire tubes. Some people get the impression that most bike tires are like car tires, running tubeless. I guess that sorta makes sense.
