I feel eating carbs the day before riding is likewise cheating. Putting energy into the body to be used at a later time, what are people thinking. The whole stored energy thing seems so unfair.

Now in the case of electric shifting I would say it's ok if the bike is equipped with a headlight (battery powered) the beam of photons being emitted frontward should cause a drag equal to the energy saved thru shifting.
