Inside Trek, there's a QC guy who wants this information.
After getting a string of these nasty wheels, I went after both the warranty guy and the QC guy about it. The QC people were giving me a skeptical "oh really?" vibe, as in "well if it's such a problem, why do we not hear more complaints?" and of course the answer is that most LBS assemblers are the low guy on the totem pole, not the lead mechanic, and are expected to be fast, not to invest shop time in quality assurance.
