Numbness on short rides!

I was doing 50 to 80 mile rides with no problem. Now I am limited to shorter
rides, 5 to 15 miles a couple times a day.

I never had a problem with numbness in the private parts until I started doing
the shorter rides. It started almost at once, in the first couple miles. Just a
bit of tingling and discomfort. The farther I went the worse it got.

I figured out what was causing it yesterday.

I have two bottle cages. one on the down tube, one on the seat tube.

If I don't have a bottle in the cage on the seat tube it vibrates and makes
the seat hum. The vibration is causing the problem.

They are the aluminum wire cages BTW. If I put an empty bottle in the
seat tube cage there is no problem.

The frame is small and the bottle in the seat tube cage is a bit hard to get
in and out, I used it for the spare bottle on longer rides.

Stick in a picture so you can see what type cages and how close the spare
bottle fits.

The strangest things can happen on a bike!
