I think this is great (in all seriousness). All youth in my neighborhood ride department store bikes (even the kids that know how to ride and are strong enough to pull a Magna 20+ speed into a block-long wheelie). Of course, the problem is that the vast majority of these kids, after a few weeks on their bikes, have bikes with frozen or maladjusted cables. It is an almost daily occurrence to see a kid braking with his feet. Assuming the integrity of the fixed hub can last longer than the chain, or other vital component(s), the kids will be better off on these... things. Unless, of course, coaster brakes make a better comeback.
