Although it won't help for public parking garages, I would think that putting the garage remote in the trunk or rear hatch area would be a good way to *not* forget about the bikes; can't open the garage without getting out of the car.
Or just lock it in the glove compartment as you can't open the garage with the keys in the ignition...
