Both sides of the argument have valid points. The thing one must remember is; operating a vehicle on the roadway is not an exact science; its an art. And because it is an art-form; inherently, the activities of riding bikes or driving motor vehicles open themselves to different interpretations. All laws are not applicable in every situation as we manuver down the roadways. A policeman's job is to keep us safe; sometimes from others, and sometimes from ourselves. The policeman's interpretation of the law as it applies to a given situation is the one that counts. So, in this case, if the officer interpreted the cyclists doing something that endangered themselves or others, he did the right thing in pulling them over. However,if he pulled the cyclist over because he was trying to enforce a law that was not applicable to the situation, he used poor judgement in pulling the cyclists over. It should be about keeping people safe!
