I am doing this charity ride and hoping I have not went over my abilities. I can ride 50 miles no problem but very little elevation gain on those. This one seems to have 3000 feet at the end for a total of one metric century. I have been putting in 75-100 miles a week and since started to attack this small, but steep hill for strength. It goes from 3750 to 950 for half couse and slowly goes back up to 3750 the second half.
An overall average of ~50 feet per mile, which I wouldn't say is too challenging... however since the 3000 feet seem to be focused on the 2nd half that means ~100 feet per mile. At my weight, I find that to be very challenging. In fact anything 75ft/mi and above I find challenging, but I don't regularly hit those kinds of hills, been sort of slowly working my way up to them in my rides.
I guess what I would ask is 1) how much do you weigh, and 2) how often do you do hills?
