Bikes: 90,s Peugeot "Tourmalet"80's Peugeot "competition", 70's Dangre Starnord "Eddy Merckx"

Love this answer, nice one. Have lots of big hills in my area but have real trouble getting above 55kmph,also the local councils have a nasty habit of spreading loose gravel on bends of hills (maintenance !!!)
Or could it be 58yo with 20 year old Peugeot " Tourmalet"

And Gary's correct, it's VERY hard to get a bicycle to go over 50 mph, that requires a long mountain descent with straight roads, most of us don't ride on those.

I did a lot of long descents in Greece, rarely got much over 40 mph. You can't carry too much speed with curves, you'll crash.
