even if you had homeowners/renters ins it wouldt have coverd it. my friend backed over his first bike in his truck, the ins adjuster came out and told him he couldnt do anything for him since he caused the damage. the adjuster told him he should have said it was stolen, then he would have written him a check. yes, the ins adjuster told him to lie and say it was stolen. my friend ended up buying a new bike out of his pocket, but now he knows for the next time. i asked my ins agent if i could add my bike, he said its already covered for theft on my homeowners but if i wreck it or whatever theres nothing he could do, not even if i paid more. so if anything ever happens to my bike, it will be "stolen."
