You may also find that your local auto parts store will let you borrow/rent a gear puller. I went to AutoZone and they charged $5 to rent one for three days. Didn't exactly fit my C-record crank (with stripped threads
), so I went to my local Kragen and they loaned out a different style gear puller at no charge (with a refundable deposit).
