Here is the VAR 22/3 tool I mentioned earlier. You can use it to re-thread to TA (23mm) size. I would not feel comfortable re-using cranks that need a gear puller to remove each time.
That's great, but that tool is not cheap, and nor is the Stronglight crank puller, if you can find one.
