I think the whole issue is in flux... now keep in mind last time I rode out there was in July... we just rode through the Golf Course and at the railroad crossing where there is a gate, just walked around it. There are "openings" on either side. Once past the railroad gate there are 3 other gates that need to be opened and closed (locked). I am well aware its an easement access and not public/open to all. I am taking a risk coming in that way. I don't do it often and thankfully when I have there have been no problems.
Frankly I agree the best way to access CHSP is through Carbon Canyon Regional Park or the new State Park entrance on that side. I do buy a county park pass each year so I just park in Carbon Canyon R P but I also have some passes for the State PArk I bought and haven't used. I usually start riding around 7 and the SP park apparently opens later. Nice bathrooms there though. I actualy like the West side of the park better so no problem for me.
The other legitimate way to come in is through Chino Hills - can't remember the name of the street but someone knows I'm sure...
