Just thought I'd share.
They were most probably yelling something about you getting off the road but the best thing to do is to wave to them. If they are being an idiot it frustrates them (because you don't come down to their level) and if they are being friendly it returns the compliment. A friend of mine did that and the guy went arround the block to come past again and yell "I was yelling at you dickhead!", of course my friend just waved back again and smiled

As an aside, on my LoGo Recumbent trike I often get "wicked bike", "cool", "way wicked" or "I want one!"
And I always get a kick out of it. On our way around Australia we got plenty of that, not to mention photo's and videos. Cycling is wonderful isn't it?
