For the first time since it got really hot for the summer- I rode my bike in to work today.
Dist: 23.23 mi
Time: 1:47:29 h:m:s
Ave. Spd: 12.97 mph
UPhill total: 3871 ft
Downhill Total: 3832 ft
Riding my $8 from the Goodwill mountain-bike-shaped-object cut about 30 minutes off the same route on my road-bike-shaped Motobecane. Mainly due to the fact that the lower gears and a third chainring on the mbso made it far easier for me to handle the numerous non-trivial elevation changes so I could keep my AVS and energy level up. This coupled with the fact that I am much more comfortable and confident on 2.5 inch tires traversing the broken pavement sub-urban sprawl terrain than on 1.25 inch rbso tires.
Still, 4 hours for the total round trip unfortunately takes too much time to do it every day what with wife and kids waiting at home and all.
