I did see that Steyr bike on craigers when hunting around, just reeks of Teutonic technology, don't it?? Ride that to Oktoberfest and I bet you'd be treated to a few beers and some interesting conversation.
I have bought 3 old bike boom Schwinns in the last two months and had sworn off buying yet another bike until I thin the herd some, but the stainless frame on the Bauer made me stoopid again.
Guess it's the many hours of grinding, sanding and painting I've done this summer to combat Florida rust on my recent purchases. I've coated the inside of 3 different steel frames so far with Rustoleum, and been cleaning and touching up the exterior paint on them, so stainless was just fresh meat to a starving wolf for me.
This despite finding Josh Brandt's strong advice online that rust is most unlikely to ever effect frame strength. I just cannot stand the look and thought of rust munching a bike and not putting up a proper fight against it, even knowing that I will probably not recoup even the rust fighting supply costs when I sell.
I was thinking my around town hauler / keep into my dotage bike would be one of those sweet Schwinn LeTour II mixtes with the solid top tube that would be easy to get a leg over in my old age, but the Bauer will serve and expect I'll find some other two wheeler to lust after.
For instance: I'm flippin' over the looks of that Raleigh Tourister pictured previously in this thread, so guess I'll dream on one of those for now.

And try to stay off of Craigslist...
