i have had both a honda CRV and a mazda 3 hatchback (mazdaspeed 3). both were great for hauling bikes. in the crv, i just took out the back seats. gave much more room plus less weight added another 1 mile per gallon. with the mazda, just left the rear seats down. really wish i still had the mazda or the honda as a bike carrier. i camped out several times in the crv.
