Yep, short and steep. Monastery for example in under a 1/4 mile has about a 300 foot gain. I would not recommend going down it until you have seen the street. It has a bend to the left and the road narrows quickly. I saw a couple of really nasty accidents with cyclist failing to negotiate the curve. One guy hit a garage door doing about 45mph, while another plowed into the rear of a parked car.
