removing stickers on bike

So, I made a post last week some time stating that I was planning on painting my aluminum mountain bike over this next winter and I got a lot of useful answers on what to use paint wise to get the best results.

Now my question is this, what is the best way to remove the sticky residue left over from the stickers that I removed off the frame? Is it ok to sandblast an aluminum frame? Or are there some good (cheap) chemicals that remove the residue that won't harm the frame? I know WD-40 removes adhesives off of plastics amazingly, is there any little home remedy that works like this?
