When I took the seat post out, there is only a 1/4 inch hole access to the top tub. So I took the handle bar off and disassembled the head set. I had a 1 inch ( ish ) hole to work with now. I took two 1x1x12 soft foam blocks and pushed them down the tube, all the way to the seat post. So my entire top tube is now filled with foam.
Thanks for answering and it sounds like that worked really well, but it seems like it may be a lot of work to disassemble the head set, etc. Do you think that is easier and faster then pulling the cable back as I described and attaching the heat shrink tubeing to the cable itself? Also, my only other concern would be that if you ever had to replace the cable the foam in the tube might make it difficult to thread a new one through.. I could be wrong, what do you think?
