Just a quick update, things are moving in a positive direction; driver fully covered, found out today that he had called the hospital several times checking on me, quick torn up about it. I'm waiting on a replacement cost on the bike from the LBS and once I get that to her she'll have a check cut for that amount and sent right away. Medical will all be taken care of, and I can delay settling on that portion up to 12 mos to feel comfortable with my recovery etc. Finally, there will be a 'pain and suffering' compensation (no numbers discussed) and she did mention that due to the nature of the incident (being physically hit by a vehicle, thrown, etc) that there would be an extra amount involved. So... thus far, looks that things will be taken care of promptly and fairly which is as much as I was hoping for.
