Anyhow, on the same (but different) vein I spoke with the mayor. We discussed the situation finally and perhaps can resolve this reasonably. One thing I did mention to the Mayor was the lack of respect for the helmet laws (yes I know this is a touchy point) regarding children specifically. I had been doing some research on this issue found many program like:
http://www.prorider.com/ that offer low costs helmets to schools and organizations. I questioned to him that perhaps the local bike club might foot at least some of the initial cost. Anyhow I wanted to pass this information also also because someone else out there might find use of the information.
Helmets for kids is not as touchy as you think. Most want it to still be a parents choice, no mandatory helmet laws, but helmets actually do help protect the types of falls that many kids experience.
