Helmets for kids is not as touchy as you think. Most want it to still be a parents choice, no mandatory helmet laws, but helmets actually do help protect the types of falls that many kids experience.
Tennessee has a helmet law that states children under the age of 12 must wear a helmet at all times, punishable by a misdemeanor offense to the parents. Although it is not strictly enforced, it is still the law.
