From the description of your discomfort, I suspect you might benefit from a bike fit. If you are carrying too much weight on your hands, there are a few adjustments that can reduce that problem. A shorter or taller stem may be all that you need. A fore-aft adjustment of the saddle may help, too.

A good bike shop ought to be able to help you out.
