You definitely need to compromise somewhere. The features that make a tire good offroad are exactly the features that make it bad on pavement. A good compromise might be something like the Schwalbe Hurricane with minimal center tread but aggressive side tread. The side tread will make fast turns on pavement sketchy, but you can take that into account in your riding style.
