When I rode dirt drops offroad, our little shop trick was grabons covered with a layer of nice cloth tape. We got all the senior citizen squeeziness, but without the embarassing foam look. For some reason that mattered at the time.
j-b, that is a smashing idea. I was wondering how to get some color on there, and the benotto stuff looked like it would slide right off. the foam has a nice tenacious grip that I enjoy. so we'll just have to see about that.
