At the risk of starting one of "those threads", there's riding as an athletic effort and riding for the fun of it. I think if you do the latter enough the first often takes care of itself. Contador hasn't started to worry about you yet, so I think you should go out and ride if you feel like it. Stop and take a day off if your muscles tell you they are tired.
