The one time I attempted the 100 mile route I must've left the Astoria Rest Stop around 3 pm. By the time I got over the TriBoro there wasn't another cyclist in sight. I immediately went off the route and wound up bailing over the 145th street bridge. Even so, I wound up clocking just over 100 miles for the day counting mileage to and from the start.
This century is like the NYC Marathon. Anyone willing to put in the time can finish the entire route but if you're not all that fast you might be the last one out there
