Anybody heard of the brand KIA?

My wife was out riding around town today, and while she was out, she stopped at a yard sale and bought me a bicycle. I picked it up later, along with a bunk bed, and carried both home on top of the kids' trailer.

The bicycle is a KIA brand. It has straight chopped off lugs, a shimano 3-speed hub, and 590mm rims (steel). For now, I'm going to turn my daughter's 24" bicycle into a 3-speed, and try to talk my wife into putting the curvier handlebars on her mountain bike (it would fit with the 1 1/4" paselas, baskets, and fenders).

But I'll probably build the frame up again eventually. It's a bit small for me, probably a little big for her, but hopefully it will fit one of the kids someday.

Anyway, have any of you ever heard of this brand, or have any information about this bike? Also, should I repack the bearings in the 3-speed hub? It doesn't feel super smooth, but I'm not sure how 3-speed hubs are supposed to feel.
